Holden, gone but not forgotten.

Today we had no plans, so that means it was a chocker block day.

Swim in the morning, requiring more negotiating with Kelsie and Ethan both niggling each other.

Beechworth Bakery for lunch, Ethan ordered a bacon and egg toasty, but didn’t want the ham. Then Kelsie and Ethan both were in Oscar wining best while eating their ‘friend’ meringues.

Mummy and Daddy overspending at the new local farm provedore, Ethan not afraid to declare “This is boring for me!”

Another second-hand bookshop, The chocolate shop. Then into the Holden Museum.

In all but one of our years in Echuca we’ve stayed a short burnouts distance from the Holden Museum but never ventured inside, partly because Kelsie and Ethan wouldn’t have had the self-control not to touch everything, but mostly because we wanted to avoid their tantrums. Now that the Museum is only months away from closing forever, we procrastinated no longer.

It was great to see the early Holdens including the first model the 48-215. Poppys Commodore was there, as was a HSV with a car phone as standard. There were many period items around the museum that were not out of place in both Mummy and Daddys childhood.

Kelsie and Ethan were more interested in playing stop go with the traffic lights and crossing lights around the display. Kelsie was upset she couldn’t find any parking signs with her name on them. But very impressed with some of the engines and gearboxes on display.

An afternoon swim and Daddy tried to teach Kelsie how to tumble turn in preparation for school swim comp.

Dinner today was at the Riverbank in Moama Waters Caravan Park. This has been recommended every year we come and today was the only day we could get a booking. After our waitress told us the specials Ethan asked if this was a 5-star restaurant. Kelsie and Ethan noticed some stars on the glass doors and windows and counted them and finally declared that the restaurant was at least a 52-star restaurant. Not to be overwhelmed with the fanciness, Ethan still managed to dip his chicken nugget in his apple juice and tomato sauce, then spill his Apple juice on the floor. He was the only one to get desert (the rest wanted port ice creamery) and had a chocolate mousse, “Its good” was his rating with a smile.
