From Murray to Melbourne and back again.

Our last day in Echuca and after many discussions we finally visited Moana beach. A great spot at the feet of the road-rail bridge. The stand up paddle board got another run. Ethan wanted to stand up and learn by himself. He was a natural, up and down the river like a duck. Dad and Mum struggled to keep up swimming around him, making sure that he didn’t venture into the boat lanes or get swept down the river with the current. Though it probably wasn’t necessary as he was well in control.

Ethan needs some gum boots for his new school, we found an online seller in Echuca, they don’t have a shopfront, but a showroom at their property. Getting there was a mini mission and meeting the owner and his dogs and extended family was an adventure. We will now be buying our gumboots annually from Echuca.

An early dinner at Antonios again as we had a sunset paddle steamer cruise on the newly returned to Echuca PS Melbourne. It was the first time we’ve been on a sunset cruise on the Murray, and the first time we’ve gone so far downstream.

Kelsie is obviously tired, and was cracking it often, pulling faces and choosing to be antisocial, but mostly keeping it together. Ethan was in his usual zone of random conversations and tangents during conversation that even had him saying “what was I talking about”.

Ethan has got his first tan, and Kelsie looks like she’s had fake tan put on for a cenics comp.

Tomorrow we go home. But not before the Shamrock serenades us to sleep with their Friday night live band doing covers, including that classic traveling song by the proclaimers.

Edit: We can hear the locals belting out collective Karaoke.
