No trip to Echuca is complete without dinner at the Riverbank restaurant in Moana. Mum booked our dinner on day 1 to ensure we didn’t miss out. Kelsie was not happy they didn’t have a Margherita pizza on the menu and said she would be happy with a Margarita cocktail from the specials menu. She settled for nuggets and chips with a berry mocktail in the end. Ethan wanted a chocolate mousse dessert with Mum. He had about 2 small spoons and then was full. Kelsie and Daddy polished it off. It wasn’t a big surprise from Ethan who was on his second chocolate milkshake after skulling the first one.
Earlier in the day we took advantage of the cooler weather to complete the Alice in Wonderland sculpture walk. Amazing river sand/mud sculptures more modern Alice than classic. It was amazing to see some vulnerable artworks out in the open with very little interference.
We also went on the annual Billabong Ranch horse and carriage ride around Echuca. Ed and Turbo were our horse 2 horsepower front mounted engines and they zipped around in the route in no time. The cooler weather obviously helping their output.
Daddy and Kelsie had a SUP around the Campaspe River. Some time out from her brother and time for Daddy Daughter Calisthenics Club 2026 discussion time. Everything’s A-OK.
We also tried a new bakery in Echuca Bakehouse 151. A little bit out of the main town, but has excellent food and service. We’d heard good things about …. Well we couldn’t quite remember if it was their pies or their pastries. And as they are obviously still small enough they weren’t quite aware of the hype, or they were playing coy. Either way we had a nice selection of pies, pastries and sandwiches, and as they were closing for the day we were gifted with a selection of donuts.
Ethan is learning gamesmanship… or more realistically smack talk. Informing Mum during a game of Skip-Bo that ‘You’re Cooked’. He didn’t win though..
