Today we had no plans, so Dad took Kelsie and Ethan on a paddle-board down the Murray. Getting onto the river at the Echuca East boat ramp Dad made two trips 5km down river to the Port of Echuca. Mummy was kind enough to play taxi back to the boat ramp. Ethan went first as he had not previously had the opportunity. And I’m not sure if it was the wind, The drag from Ethans feet in the water, or the reverse thrust from his non-stop chatter, but his trip took at least 20min longer.

Our preference for dinner was closed today so Mum found a new popular venue at the Moana bowls club. There were no bookable tables but we were told to go at 5pm to see if we could get one in the outdoor space. This turned out to be an odd takeaway eatery and bar, still on the bowls club property, fenced off from the street. And I’m not sure how it would work as take away since you had to check into the club to get to the venue. The menu was identical except for some pasta dishes that weren’t available.

Random rant for the holiday. The lolly shop in Echuca used to sell Daddy’s favourite boiled sweats ‘Red-backs’ a Raspberry and Aniseed delight. It’s not clear who decides the selection but their decision to remove ‘Red-backs’ and keep Ginger flavoured boiled sweets needs their taste buds checked.

Echuca never ceases to surprise us. Mum and Kelsie found a peacock in the yard of the resident hoarder.
