Mum and Dad were witness to another Ethan-ism today. On what I’m sure is to be a daily regular the family walked into Main Street. We had previously negotiated a morning visit to the ‘toy shop’ which is really the Christmas shop selling Christmas decorations and ornaments as well as a selection of premium stuffed toys and classical display statues. Kelsie and Ethan wanted/needed to buy a stuffed animal to remember their holiday by. Mom generously decided to subsidise their purchase
Ethan asked what today was Monday, what day were were going home Saturday. And came to the conclusion there are “3 days left” before we go home.
After the toy shop, Ethan made a point of counting the number of seconds that Mum was in Rich Glenn selecting a dish for dinner. A local hand made Lasagne was the choice of the day.
Of all the sandwich options at Moana bakery Ethan chose a Carrot sandwich and Kelsie chose a cheese croissant, which the staff forgot initially and so Kelsie was starvin Marvin by the time it arrived. The excessive gas/bubbles from her Coke Zero did nothing to improve her mood. Conversation at the lunch table was focused on. The Fanta was on the wrong shelf and the labels were missing the purple Fanta. Also the coke fridge didn’t havre any coke in it.
Instead of boating from the Echuca East boat ramp back into the main wharf, we decided to simply mess around in the calm waters of the ramp area and watch the wake boarders and jet-skis zoom up and down the river. Kelsie and Ethan were keen to help row, but found it difficult to find a consistent pattern that wasn’t sending us into the centre of the river, the path of a boat or into the bank. Then they’d crack it for a short while then want another turn. Until Mum said they could both just go overboard and swim in the river. 10 seconds later they were both splashing around in the Murray having a great time. Though there was a time when they were in and out of the boat far too frequently and Dad cracked it that he couldn’t actually row for the constant interruptions. Mum eventually decided that the water looked nice and got in as well. Leaving dad with a row boat in effective sports mode.
Not to be outdone with quirks, Kelsie while terrified of bees near the pool is passionate about saving moths and ladybugs that may be drowning in any body of water.
A great day with the usual entertainment. Chalk this day up as a clear win.
