It’s our last night in Fiji. We’ve been out late watching the Polynesian fire show, so this will be as brief as possible. We will have a 5 hour flight tomorrow to write the epilogue.
We took a horse ride along the beach today. Ethan shrugged off his usual shyness and was chatting away to his guide. Kelsie still wanted Daddy to ask the interested questions she had. Mummy got a 2 for 1 deal. The mare she was riding had a 3 month old foal that was following along. Mummy didn’t bargain for the army barge between the mare and one of her other offspring at the end of the ride. The mare almost lost its footing on some rocks and Mummy did an amazing job of staying in saddle. Daddy had to take a ride back to the beach, as Mummy’s hat had blown off and the guide failed to return it before departure. Never can the Poole-Wain family go anywhere and return with everything.
Kelsie and Ethan spend every meal prepping what food they are going to steal from the buffet to give to the resident stray cats named Coconut and Lemon.
Between meals and Kids club they have bickered non stop. There are no words adequate to describe the frivolity of the topics over which they are arguing.
Mummy and Daddy successfully made a reservation for the Chinese restaurant. They were lucky as the 6:30 booking was full, and the 7:00 session was full when they added their names. Upon arriving at 7pm there were more than half a dozen empty tables so ‘fully booked’ must be relative to ‘Fiji Time’.
The Staff here continue to struggle with a new IT system that’s been installed at all restaurants and bars. From observations staff need to log in each time they use it, navigate through multiple menus to get to the item to be ordered, and if the wrong option is selected they have to go back and log in all over again.
